Drawing inspiration from artists like Phoebe Bridgers and Gracie Abrams — and shaped by a lifelong love of literature—nineteen year old Naomi Skye discovered her own voice through the fusion of storytelling and song. Transforming the words of her journals into songs that resonate well beyond her ink-filled pages, Naomi draws from her travels and experiences in both city and countryside, expressing heartfelt lyrics that instantly connect.
Naomi Skye's debut single, old habits introduced her as an authentic new voice in Canadian pop indie music. With its driving melodies and heartflet lyrcis, old habits set the foundation for Naomi's signature sound — blending contemporary pop with introspective storytelling. Positioning Naomi as a relateable and promising emerging arist, old habits established the tone for what has quickly become a compelling body of work, and paving the way for the release of ghost from her forthcoming debut EP, broken record.
Enrolled in Criminology & Sociolegal Studies and named to the Dean's List of Scholars for academic excellance at the University of Toronto, Naomi Skye is an executive member of Youth for Innocence (U of T Chapter); a student-led initiative dedicated to investigating wrongful convictions and advocating for justice reform. Her academic and advocacy work deepen the empathy, observation and human complexity woven throughoout her writing.
Rooted in honesty and driven by a deep sense of wonder, Naomi Skye is building a body of work that reflects the world as she experiences it — quiet moments, heavy truths, the soft edges of growing up, and the stories that shape us. With new music on the horizon, the year ahead marks the beginning of a promising chapter as she continues to develop her sound, expand her audience and share songs that resonate far beyond her ink-filled pages.
